Swedish researchers are developing ways to grip the steering wheel remotely. In a future where self-driving cars fill our roads, people may still need to intervene, but how? Researchers at KTH in Stockholm are developing a system where you can take over the steering wheel and temporarily steer a car remotely from a control tower. TV4 Nyheterna visited the lab where the experiments are taking place and got a demonstration by Frank Jiang. Many of you might recognize Frank from Digital Futures Inauguration in 2020 when he made a very much appreciated demo for the Swedish Minister for Higher Education and Research.

Frank is a WASP academic PhD student under the supervision of Digital Futures Director Karl H Johansson and co-supervision of Professor Jonas Mårtenssonboth at the Division of Decision and Control Systems at KTH and involved in research focussing on the smart city and society at Digital Futures.
